He forgot to cite the source in one speech and the Dukakis team blasted it all over the airwaves and pretended he'd been doing it forever. It was such a sleazy and underhanded attack that Dukakis actually fired his campaign manager over it and only re-hired him after getting Biden's blessing at the convention.
