Texas Freedom Network calls for removal of Texas education board panelist

Group calls for removal of Texas education board panelist Steven Balch

The news release says Balch's claims echo white nationalist "Great Replacement" conspiracy theorists who argue that "power seeking elites" aim to transform the country by replacing white Americans with immigrants.

In a separate essay written by Balch in November 2020, he repeated claims that widespread voter fraud cost Trump the election in 2020, calling Biden's victory a "literal coup." He said Trump should "lead his followers into America's streets and squares" to find a way to overturn the election. He also joined a collective of professors in a statement telling county and city officials to ignore the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on same-sex marriage in 2015.

In Rebuke to Trump, Supreme Court Won’t Block Release of Jan. 6 Files | NYTimes

From the article:

Among the documents that Mr. Trump had asserted executive privilege over were proposed talking points for Kayleigh McEnany, his former press secretary; a handwritten note concerning Jan. 6; a draft text of a presidential speech for the "Save America" rally that preceded the mob attack; and a draft executive order on the topic of election integrity, the filing states.

Mr. Trump has also sought to block the release of records from the files of Mark Meadows, his former chief of staff; Stephen Miller, his former senior adviser; and Patrick F. Philbin, his former deputy counsel. Mr. Trump also sought to stop the release of the White House Daily Diary — a record of the president's movements, phone calls, trips, briefings, meetings and activities — as well as logs showing phone calls to the president and to Vice President Mike Pence concerning Jan. 6.

Finally, Mr. Trump tried to keep secret a draft proclamation honoring the Capitol Police and two officers who died after the riot, Brian D. Sicknickand Howard Liebengood, as well as related emails; a memo about a potential lawsuit against several states that Mr. Biden won; an email chain from a state official regarding election-related issues; and talking points on supposed election irregularities in one county in Michigan.

Take it from a high schooler who’s actually learned about CRT: Adults need to chill out

Opinions | Take it from a high schooler who's actually learned about CRT: Adults need to chill out

Have we been taught that all White people are racist? No. That White people should feel guilty? No. To hate our White friends and teachers? Absolutely not.

Opinion by Christiane Calixte

Excerpt:

In most schools, as has been well established, critical race theory — an approach to analyzing the intersection of race, history and the law, generally reserved for higher education — isn't even being taught. And yet, since January 2021, according to Education Week, more than 30 states "have introduced bills or taken other steps that would restrict teaching critical race theory or limit how teachers can discuss racism and sexism" in K-12 schools.

Dozens of Ukrainian government sites have been hit by an ominous cyberattack, with hackers warning people to "be afraid and expect the worst."

The attack took over websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet of ministers and security and defense council, posting a message on screens in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish that read: "Ukrainian! All your personal data was uploaded to the public network. All data on the computer is destroyed, it is impossible to restore it."
