Hard on the heels of its disappointing earnings announcement. Google will no longer offer free Google Apps to businesses with more than 10 users.…
In an announcement posted on the Google Enterprise Blog, the company included the news in a post describing how it was making its apps "easier to adopt and manage" for small businesses.
While existing business subscribers will be able to run up to 50 users on a free account, all new business sign-ons will have to choose between the existing US$50 per-user annual plan, or a new no-contract US$5 per-user, per-month "flexible plan".

Apple 'not tracking' iPhone users
Apple has denied that its iPhones and 3G iPads have been secretly recording their owners' movements.
More than a week after the issue came to public attention, Apple released an online question and answer document.
It said: "The iPhone is not logging your location. Rather, it's maintaining a database of Wi-Fi hotspots and cell towers around your current location, some of which may be located more than one hundred miles away from your iPhone, to help your iPhone rapidly and accurately calculate its location when requested."

Facebook Launches Deals to Compete With Groupon
Facebook's anticipated 'Groupon-killer' offering group-based local coupon dealsreportedly launches on Tuesday in five pilot cities in the U.S. including Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, San Diego and San Francisco. The service is called Facebook Deals--the old Facebook Deals announced in November appears to be renamed Check-In Deals--and will focus on offering discounts for group activities such as such as 50 percent off movie tickets for four or 75 percent off bowling for six. You will be able to buy local deals using your credit card or Facebook credits, according to The New York Times. You will then print out a voucher that you can take with you to redeem your deal.

And none of that funding—none—pays for abortion. Only about a quarter of federal funds for family planning and women's healthcare goes to Planned Parenthood, three-quarters goes to clinics in communities all over the country. And for many American women, those clinics are the only healthcare they have access to.

Version 1.3 of the TED iPad app went live this afternoon, adding a much-requested feature: AirPlay support, so you can wirelessly stream content from the TED iPad app over to an Apple TV. OMB prepares for open gov sites to go dark in May
Many of the Obama administration's top open government initiatives are set to be turned off by May 31.
Government sources confirm that the Office of Management and Budget is planning to take seven websites dark in two months because of a lack of funding.
One government official, who requested anonymity because they didn't get permission to discuss the topic, said funding will begin to run out on April 20 for public sites IT Dashboard, Data.gov and paymentaccuracy.gov. The source said OMB also is planning on shutting down internal government sites, including Performance.gov, FedSpace and many of the efforts related the FEDRamp cloud computing cybersecurity effort.
The official said two other sites, USASpending.gov and Apps.gov/now, will run through July 30 but go dark soon after.
"We need at least another $4 million just to keep USASpending.gov operating this year," the official said. "We are looking at a pass-the-hat approach, but it could be challenging to get that done in time."
The White House requested $35 million for the e-government fund in 2011. The House allocated only $2 million in its bill, H.R. 1. The Senate, meanwhile, would provide $20 million for the e-government fund.
